Does Spanish Fly Work?

Fact or fiction? Does Spanish fly really work to attract the opposite sex or is it just an urban legend? Almost every kid in high school has heard of this and it seems to really capture the imagination. Spanish fly is actually a beetle that originates from Spain and other Mediterranean countries. It has been used medically for approximately 2000 years but not as an aphrodisiacs. It was believed that when doctors diagnosed pain and suffering to be the cause of evil spirits.

Yes, it sounds crazy because it is. It hurt tremendously and distracted people from the real ache or cause of pain. It was also found to cause urinary tract irritation, burning and an erection. It was also in wine or food to cause seduction in women.

The worst part is that even a slight overdose would cause blistering of the intestines, damage to the kidneys and urinary tract.  Spanish fly is not an aphrodisiac, instead it is an irritant.

The good news is that there are some genuine aphrodisiacs in development. For example, Palatin Technologies was developing a product called Bremelanotide which studiesl had shown made rats extremely aroused. However, it has not been approved by the FDA as of yet.

“Spanish fly” products legally sold do not contain real spanish fly and will not adversely effect you. The bad news is many of them lack any aphrodisiac like effects. On this site we advocate the use of pheromones due to their safety, effectiveness, and amazing results at attracting women.
